I'm looking at buying a DDJ-1000 and I'm wondering if I can use my iPad as a backup on channels 3 & 4.
I see on youtube that users have figured out how to get Algoriddim DJAY iPad app to map to DDJ-1000, but are there other apps that map correctly & have cueing features?
It appears the Rekordbox iPad app features "PRO DJ LINK" to CDJ and XDJ devices. Are there plans to add the DDJ 1000 to that list? It's important to me as I'm leaving 8 years of DJ'ing on the iPad Traktor system to move to Rekordbox and I still want the iPad as a backup instrument.

You can use the iPad as an input on 3 OR 4, but not 3 AND 4. As you can see on the djay hardware compatibility page, the DDJ-1000 is not listed because it requires device drivers. So the only connection method you can use is a line out from the headphone jack of the iPad to one of the line inputs on the DDJ.
As the DDJ is a controller, not a player, it is not compatible with the rekordbox app.
