XDJ-XZ Standalone Mono-Split

Hello!

I recently updated to the newest firmware only to discover that Mono-split in my headphones no longer split between my left and right drivers. How can I continue to hear only the cue track in one ear?

Go to the utilities Menu and scroll down to Mixer, you will see the option for Headphone Mono/Stereo split there.

Hey Jay,

I have the mono-split setting engaged on my unit, but both the master and cue signals play out of both headphone cups. Headphone cue mix nob is at 12 O'clock.

I turn fader down on channel 1 and press cue while master cue is engaged and channel 2 with no cue engaged and fader up but I still hear both signals mixed together in both headphones. It's the same when I use standalone mode, or Rekordbox. If I disengage master cue the master signal disappears but I hear any cue-engaged channels from both ear cups. Please help!

Hi team,

Have you been able to come up with a solution to this issue? It still persists despite having Mono/Stereo split engaged. Please help!

Are you using the XZ as a stand-alone unit or as a controller?

Typically in stand-alone but on rare occasion as a controller.

Hello Pioneer,

This is still an unresolved issue with my XDJ-XZ unit. Please help?

Christopher,

Have you checked the headphones with another device to verify that the signal is not being summed to mono, thus going to both ears? Try connecting to your computer's headphone jack and see if this video properly sends audio to the left and right sides.

Hi team,

I've plugged the Pioneer HDJ-2000s I use into my computer and confirmed that I can hear sound from the video in the link provided through each driver individually.

However - When I plug them into the XDJ-XZ, engage master Cue, and play through a dedicated channel (with cue engaged and channel fader down), audio plays from both headphone drivers, instead of one. If I have a channel fader up with audio playing through to master (with or without cue engaged), sound is played through both headphone cups as well.

This has only been an issue since the most recent firmware update, and the results are the same regardless of if my headphones are set to stereo or mono. I have also tested with Sennheiser PXC550 and had the same results.

As I posted to your ticket:

Split-mono cueing functions exactly as you're describing... when you have both the master and the same source engaged, it will play through as if it were in stereo. If you only want it in one ear, you must only engage either the cue OR the channel, not both. To hear this better, hit the channel cue for a channel which is NOT playing live to master, as well as the master, then you'll hear the split.
