Rekordbox installed on a NEW partition on the existing laptop

Hi Pioneer/Anyone

I have been using RB very successfully on a Windows i7 laptop,I have been installing various programs on the laptop to use and RB has been fine. Now however there seems to be an audio glitch happening and I have tried various things to correct it but all to no avail. Must be a conflict somewhere with the new software being added.

In light of the above I have decided to do a dual boot system on the 2nd partition and just use it for RB only. My database AND music is all located on an external SSD drive, is there anything special I need to do with regards to RB to install onto the 2nd partition and for everything to run as expected...

I would want to leave my existing installation of RB on Partition 1 just in case either one suffered a problem at least I could boot the other partition and use that....

Regards John

Nope, if your database AND music are all stored externally (as I do the same thing), you don't have anything to worry about. Just have that drive connected when you launch rekordbox, select that external database (if it wasn't loaded by default) from the preferences, and away you go. You could use your external drive with any rekordbox installation on any OS that supports your drive format.

Hi Pulse,

Thanks for that. I thought that was the case so I did it anyway before your reply and all good. One thing, is there anyway to copy over your settings?

Yes, with an asterisk -- you can copy the files, but if your username is not the same, you need to edit the file to change the path(s) for certain lines.

You'll find the files here: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox
