Intelligent Playlist

Would it be possible to be able to create an Intelligent Playlist using the date added with the range of newest tracks.

For example i really would be to be able to quickly find my latest add tracks. And i thing a Intelligent Playlist which updates with the latest 20 newest tracks etc..

So need a field under the date add to include the newest xxx number of tracks?

Cant be that hard to include in the next update to Rekordbox....

Hi Clive

That feature would be great as I also use the date added to sort music, to a certain degree. I have defined a workaround for this where I use a field in the MP3 tags that is not used at all, or generally not used. I use Original Composer, for example.

When I add new tracks to the collection I immediately add the date to that field. I can then use the Intelligent Playlist feature and filter by that. Just check what fields are visible in the Intelligent filter options and then see if one of those fields would work best for you.

Also, by recording the date added in that field it is never lost, even if you move or recreate your collections.

Hope this helps.

It's been requested numerous times by users in the past (myself included).

You can use the filter "Date added" + "In the last" and your preferred time span. It's not exactly what your looking for but try a few time spans and you'll find one that's about 20 tracks consistently.

We've asked our product team to include additional intelligent criteria, more like iTunes.

Thanks guys. This is not a massive problem as on my XDJ i have just worked out you can browse by tracks > all > all. Then press menu and sort by date added. Its a long way around but works. However still would be better if the intelligent playlist was more dynamic.

Come on Pioneer (Chop,Chop!)....

Great work implementing the intelligent playlists Pioneer THANK YOU.

But can we have the option to duplicate an intelligent playlist? That would make the whole system much more powerful, as its an absolute ballache to have to specify all the genres you don't want to include each time you wish to add a variable into the mix.

Would be a HUGE TIMESAVER and most welcome.

Lots of suggestions like this are on the list already, but we don't have any timeline for their implementation, sorry.

Understood but alot of these suggestions can all be tied up with one simple solution, ask the team to implement an OR function (operator) and that would reduce the workload for any of these operations dramatically.

the "contains" operator is too broad, "does not contain" too restrictive.

the = operator is more or less the same as contains and the other weird symbol = / combined... well who knows what that does, after playing around with it, i noticed it behaves exactly the same as "does not contain" operator. So we need a median.

We leave it to you Pioneer, Rekordbox is becoming great!

Like I said, lots of those small things are in the pipeline, but no timeline on getting them out for us to use them!
