Rekordbox DJ with external usb/SD

I'm looking for some support. I use a DDJ-RX with rekordbox dj 4.3.0.

I'm looking to go B2B with a friend who also uses rekordbox to organize his music collection. When he plugs into my computer in export mode I can see his USB with all the playlists, cue points, etc. However, in performance mode I see the USB in the file explorer with absolutely no access to any music files.

Is this done on purpose? Can't for the life of me figure out how to get around it. Is this something that will be fixed in the future?

Sorry guys, there is currently no way to "back to back" or share a computer with the intention of loading two different databases. The original spec of rekordbox was to load a single database, but we hope in a future update there will be the ability to load either a second database or an export database. We don't have a timeline available, but hope it will be included soon as there have been many requests for it.

Thanks for the quick feedback, should have maybe looked around the forum for answers first.

I guess what I'm really getting at is if rekordbox could be used like a typical DJM/CDJ setup, where you can walk up with your tracks loaded up on an external device. Im a big fan of the seamless transitions between djs on CDJs and I see the potential to have a really powerful system if this get's ironed out.

Yeah, I hope so too - I'm guessing this was a scenario not anticipated by the engineers when the software / database was designed and as such, became a limitation.

Multiple databases and the ability to move tracks between databases means that we could archive unused tracks  without losing the cue point, hot cue and beatgrid info.   Pioneer shoud get this done pronto.
