Further more engaging the effects add on can create artefacts in the DJM which sound like a buffer issue
Hey guys
My current setup at a club is Pioneer DJM NXS2
Running rekordbox dj with RMX effects and video add on. I also use a DDJ-SP1 to control extra vision and effects. However there doesn't seem to be a way to turn off midi on the mixer (it stays on despite pressing the button) and this disables the rmx effects. I can still midi control them but they don't work through the mixer. Any guesses? It works with an XDJ RX so I know it can be done via hardware.
Cheers
Nic

@Nic > I'm a bit confused...
"I can still midi control them but they don't work through the mixer."
Do you mean the effects (within rekordbox) are still being activated but the audio is not being affected?
As for the issue with artefacting, chances are it's your computer, not the hardware. What's your system spec and what's the audio buffer setting within rekordbox?
Hey Pulse
Cheers for the quick reply. Sorry if I wasn't too clear last night, was trying to write it whilst on the fly at a set so I remembered everything clearly.
Last night the buffer was set to 960 samples when I posted this but I believe I moved it up to 416 part way through the set as it was a bit too slow moving the platters. It was doing this at both places the audio buffer was set. I've used the RMX and Video add ons at similar buffers across many other hardware setups and they all have worked flawlessly and I can engage effects with the DDJ-SP1 and everything is smooth sailing. This has worked perfectly when I aggregate two CDJs together, play on vinyl with DVS or on a Rekordbox XDJ-RX. However, yes on the DJM 900 Nexus 2 the RMX effects don't affect the audio when engaged. You can see the knobs / buttons turning on & up but nothing changes in the audio, unlike all the other setups. Occasionally when engaging the RMX effects, artefacts will kick in on the track in question and I need to jump on thumbdrives and reset the system. If I don't engage the RMX effects on the DJM 900nxs2, no problems arise so for the rest of the night I just used the built in mixer effects.
