DDJ-RR : How to turn down master output to sound desk

I played a gig on Friday night and the sound guy said the signal from my DDJ-rr to the booth was "hot" the master output meter at the top right of the screen is constantly redlining and I cannot adjust the knob next to it on the screen. Turning down the master level on the mixer section turns the volume down, but the meter in the top corner still redlines, how can I adjust this so that the signal from my controller to the sound desk isn't so hot.

I've looked and looksd online but can't find anything to help me with this, if I want already bald I would be tearing my hair out.

Please help!!

Thank you

@Martin > The meters on your hardware are what you should be looking at - not the master level in the software. My recommendation is to adjust the channel gain so each individual channel is peaking at the first orange LED in the meter, then, with the channel fader fully open, adjust the master level until it too is peaking at the first orange LED.
