Beat syncing stops working intermittently

Hi all,

I've had a DDJ-SB2 for a few months now (mainly just for messing around at home/house parties). I haven't learnt to beat match properly yet so a lot of the time I just use the sync function (yes I know!) but every now and then it just stops working. The BPMs look matched but the beats aren't. I've tried everything I can find suggested in other posts (disable/enable sync, check analysis lock is off, switch from REL to INT, make sure songs are imported in normal mode)

Does anyone have any pointers as to what's happening?

Cheers,

Joe Taylor

You answered your question in your question. Sync isn't perfect, no matter how it looks on the screen with any software. Learn to beat match a little better, it's not all that hard these days. You'll find you have a lot more fun with it when you feel more in control.

The sync is actually quite good, but depends on your tracks having beat grids that are accurate. Have you verified that the songs which aren't beatmatching properly have been analysed correctly and have grids that align with the music?

I agree, beat sync works awful on version 5, on version 4.5 works correct!

@Bandit > If you're having problems with the beat sync in the beta, please report it in the beta forum - a video would help our engineers understand the exact nature of the problem you're having.
