Are you using the DC power supply?
Have you set the input switch to PHONO?
Are you connecting the IF-2 outputs to your LINE inputs on the mixer?
Hi everyone,
I just recently got the Interface 2 to work with my two Technics 1200 M3Ds and my Allen & Heath XONE23 mixer. The Technics are internally grounded, so I can't ground the turntable directly to the box.
After following the instructions in the manual and fidgeting with the line/phono switch, the sound quality is awful. Really distorted, hurting my speakers with lots of static. I tried calibrating it several different ways and plugging things in other inputs or outputs just to get it to work. Nothing.
Any idea what the problem could be here? I'm a bit lost on what to do next, nearing the point of returning it.

Yes, using the DC power supply.
Yes, I set input switch to PHONO and LINE and works on neither.
Yes, I am connecting IF-2 outputs to LINE inputs on the mixer or PHONO, depending on which switch I was trying.
No - the inputs on the IF-2 should be phono since you're using turntables, and as the outputs are line level, you should have the inputs on the mixer set to LINE.
Sending a line output to a phono input is not desirable as the signal would be way too hot.
So the switch should be on PHONO on the IF-2 while the outputs from the IF-2 are connected to LINE on my mixer?
It doesn't matter which inputs you're using on the IF-2; the outputs are ALWAYS line level!
I don't think it's very clear that it's always line level output!
Is this the same for the USB output if I wanted to rip vinyl using Audicity?
Actually, it's quite clear, as indicated in both the user manual:

...and the Quick Start guide:

If you are ripping direct via the USB connection, there is no output from the IF2.
