When viewing my entire collection, if I select a genre (e.g. I only want to see tracks with the genre "House"), all but one track disappear. All my "House" tracks are not shown. This didn't happen in v4.
Has something changed in the functionality?

I think there's a bit of confusion... those filters at the top are for the MyTag data, not the genre metadata.
Here you can see the genres Tech House and D&B aren't in the list, that's because they're Genre and not MyTag data.
Use the Category Filter button instead to narrow it down by a specific Genre and then you'll see only those songs.

Thanks Pulse, I had seen some genres in the MyTag window and got confused. I'm still unclear why the track filter has a "genre" tick box, when the words underneath it are MyTags? It almost feels as if this filter needs a genre list in the options...
What I was trying to achieve was to filter by genre, and then by rating (e.g. show Techno tracks with rating 4+5) ? The category filter options obviously don't carry across when you click the track list filter.
@David > I had a momentary "WTF?" myself until I remembered that was the MyTag section. To show a user one day just how you could totally customize the MyTag sections, I renamed the Genre section to "Types of Hats" and put things like "Fedora" and "Top Hat" in the list.
If you're trying to achieve that kind of filter, why not create an intelligent playlist? That might be more suited to what you're trying to accomplish in a quick manner.
The other option, if you wanted to use the filters available in the MyTag section, would be to add those genre tags to the tracks. Simply use the regular genre filter to narrow down the collection to only "House," then select all those files and add the MyTag of "House." Next, filter the genre to "Tribal" and add the MyTag of "Tribal." And if you wanted to use multiples, if your genre is "Tribal / House," use that filter for the genre and then check both the "Tribal" and "House" MyTag boxes. After that, you could use those MyTag filters + the star rating without creating an intelligent playlist.
Thanks. Yes, I imagined you would suggest this type of approach. The only problem is the time taken to duplicate the genres into tags for each track. It would be nice if Rekordbox in the future could do native filtering with genre, in addition to all the other aspects. I might post a suggestion - they can only say "no" after all...!

Yeah, it would take some time to do it all by hand, but the reason it's not automatic is those MyTag fields are completely customizable, they don't even have to be "genre."

The fast way to do by hand is to sort them by genre, select all of them you want to tag, and select the tag. I did my collection in less then 3 min. ;)
Nice thing about the my tag, is that you can have several tags on one track.
