Just got my XDJ RX2 out of the box today.
I noticed when using USB Drives I am able to use the beat loop function just like I did with the previous model.
But when I try and engage the beat loop function in "Performance Mode" it goes to "Pad Efx" and not able to engage any loops from the pads except when I use the IN and OUT button on the upper left hand sides of the decks.
Any fix for this or do I have to change something in settings? According to the menu page I have the latest firmware 1.20 to date installed.
@Danny > The pads operate differently when in MIDI mode using the unit as a rekordbox controller, see the hardware diagram for the default pad assignments and keep in mind you can always re-map these yourself within the MIDI panel.

the mapping ist simply crap/not correct :-) pioneer needs to fix this in upcoming rb Version :-)

the pad section is simply not mapped as it should be, for example on the Loop section are the effects etc. i can't imagine that this is how it was planned ;-)
and: it is no hid mapping - the platter works only in midi mode. in the previous fw update hid Support was announced but the mapping is still midi only (the naming of the mapping states this: "MIDI" ). as far as i know the rx mk1 has a real hid mapping.
hope the next Version of rb fixed this :-)
@Daniel > Yes, the loop section is mapped for the FX, and that is how it's supposed to be to take more advantage of the rekordbox features.
HID is used for the display output, it's not necessary for the jogs which have an accurate enough resolution in MIDI mode. And wouldn't you rather have a user-customizable MIDI control than a fixed-HID control?

yep, its no problem to remap the buttons.
in wonder why i cannot trace any hid communication when using the rx2 with rb in perf mode. my rr for example sends hid over the jog - all other controls are sending midi, thats fine high resolution on the jogs and the rest fully customizable :-)

Never did this before so just need someone to point me in the right direction.
When using the previous model in performance mode beat looping was with the touch of one button and would like to try and reassign the pads so I can have that familiarity.

Proud new owner of the XDJ RX2. I know how to reassign the pad mode, specifically for the Beat Loop function, while using it in MIDI mode connected to Rekordbox on the computer. I enjoy having my bottom 4 pads for different rolls at different beats. The top pads I use for mostly flangers and a V. Brake. I really like this functionality.
Is there anyway to reassign the functions of the Beat Loop pads while using the RX2 as a standalone controller with a USB? If I could use the same functions in pad mode as I do using it as MIDI controller, that would be dope. It wouldn't be vital to my sets, but it can add for some different and interesting transitions. It's a lot of fun.
Please let me know if there is any way to do this or if it will be added in future firmware updates. Thanks!
@Sam > Unfortunately, in stand-alone mode, those pads have pre-defined functions which can not be changed.
@Danny > Simply open the MIDI panel in rekordbox, find what function you want to add and add it, click the LEARN button on that function, press the button on your controller you want to use for it, and chances are it will tell you that it's already assigned to another function. Go and remove the MIDI mapping from that function, then go back to your new function, press the button on your hardware and it will now be assigned there.
