rekordbox; get back playlist, memory cue & hot cue info

Hey,

I've seen multiple threads on this and have got no answers but, I apologies if this info is elsewhere.

My old macbook died a few weeks ago which had all my old rekordbox playlists, tracks, cues and hot cues saved. I can however access the hard drive by taking the drive out and plugging in a power cable and usb adapter, so I have been able to retrieve all of my files, music and other projects.

I have now got a new macbook and have installed all my previous software and files, and things are running great again but, I'm struggling to get all of rekordbox info back into my rekordbox. When I insert my RB USB I can see all my old tracks, playlists and hot cues. Can I somehow transfer this data back onto the music in my new rekordbox?

I also sync my rekordbox tracks from my iTunes playlists and I was able retrieve my iTunes playlist info from copying the iTunes xml file out of the iTunes folder on my old hard drive. Is there possibly a file on my old hard drive in the application support or library folders to retrieve my rekordbox data? I know I could export the library info from my old rekordbox but I can't get my old macbook working so I can only access the raw files on the hard drive.

I hope that all makes sense and I hope I can get the info off either my USB or my old hard drive.

Thanks guys,

Will

Ok, well that's amazing, thanks!

Just so I understand how my files are being stored and sourced here...

So if I import and copy the playlists, that means the tunes are being saved somewhere in a rekordbox folder yes? Meaning my tunes are not only saved in my iTunes folder but are now also saved in a rekordbox folder somewhere? Is there a way of merging these together so I don't waste twice the amount of space for the same thing?

Also, if I import these playlists into my rekordbox, can I add songs from my iTunes, change songs and then reformat my USB and set it up as a new rekordbox USB and export these playlist back onto it so I can continue to build up my library?

Thanks,

Will

Just an update on my findings.

So instead of choosing the "Music/PioneerDJ/Imported From Devices" location, I chose to import and copy the files into my iTunes music library "Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music". It hasn't increased any space on my hard drive and everything seems to have worked!!!!

I'll update if anything's gone wrong.

:)
