I have tons of CDs (from Golden 90s hiphop-era). I ripp them from time to time. BUT all the waveforms get so small compared to the one songs I buy from say Beatport.
The colored waveforms dont "fill out" the whole waveforms space. Its just like colored dots on a straight line sometimes.. what can be done and how to solve?
I dont think it affects the beat-analysis or the beatgrid. But I mix visually also for many reasons.

This is because music was mastered at a way lower volume back then, this is just the way it was recorded. You can try to normalise the files with a music editor but that sadly won't get you far. To get up to todays standards with volume and compression my best recommendation is to buy the songs again in a re-mastered version.

I mean, CD-rip is better quality than MP3s so I dont know If I should buy that argument. Can you please verify you source to that point please? =)
CD is NOT bad quality! Or thats not correct. It off course depends.. but the format CD is high quality-sound still!
And if to edit as you say. Please how can I do this? In Audacity? Or can I do something in Maschine 2.x??
I don't see why you shouldn't go with the solution to normalize your rips to get a louder file. I have a ton of 90ies tracks too and from my point of view there is no need to either purchase them again or have them manipulated with compression or other.
On the CD you got them as they were originally mastered and that should be fine.
There are a lot of audio editor programs available which can do this as a batch job, so that you don't need to do it track by track.
The only thing you should figure out before you do it is what will happen to your meta data you potentially got stored with the file. Just to be sure you're not losing it.

Henrik is correct in stating most likely the cd's were just mastered with a low volume. It is very common with cd's of the 80's and 90's. In the most basic way, the smaller the wave form in Rekodbox, the lower the volume of the file. That;s why so many artists are remastering CD's and digital files. I've found the fastest way to "fix" this problem is using Platinum Notes ( http://www.platinumnotes.com ). It will analyze the file and bring it up to more modern standards for volume and compression. You can do batch processing once you find the settings you like. Hope that helps.
@Nightlife -> I didn't say that CD's have bad quality, they were just mastered differently back then, and I certainly do not recommend you to replace them with mp3's. From my own experience buying remastered AIFF's is the most time / effort efficient way to incorporate older tunes into a modern library, but you can of course use software like DJLaZaRuS suggests.

Yes to buy is in so many cases the best way to go but there are in some situations or for some tunes I must do it myself If I want them. Please feel free to drop more steady programs that are well tested for this. To have to compare with.
Another follow-up-question is when I record my sets or when practice I get same problem with "weak waveforms". Is that if I record to low volume then?

I mean I use highquality songs from Beatport and I ALWAYS check so led never run up on red. And try to keep them never lower than exactly before yellow. And EQ at centerstate/default for all. I mean there are not so many parameters to set more than that. How to think and do?
I record inside recordbox = WAV
Or in Audacity = export to FLAC
How to make it right? =)
I think many have so big knowledge in this and I think more than me has this problem.
