I've been a user of another software and hardware manufacturer for 6 years, and after 6 kontrollers broken or burnt I moved back to Pioneer, since the building quality is way better.
I've purchased the only controller which si trasportable on plane - the RR - that has balanced outputs and so on. Actually to transport it had to modify the trolley I was using for the other controller but no everything works fine.
Let's talk about functionalities on Rekordbox and the RR:
- Sample volume is TOO low. Even with the autogain to max and the volume to the max you can barely hear them.
- Beatjump functionality is too hidden, when you need to beatjump you have to do it straight away, can't hit 3+ buttons with 2 hands to do it. (I've remapped into the slicer pads)
- When you hit a cue pad and then you hit cue, the song should cue where it was cued, not at the beginning of the song
- When a song is playing it is normal that you can change the tempo of the playing song. Then when you mix it and you lower the volume of the previous song, you should be able to change the tempo from the new song tempo fader, not the old song, even without stopping it. If the volume is zero, the other song is the master
- The crossfader does not remember latest settings: I turn it off removing 12, 34 buttons, and everytime I open up the software is active again
- When sync is active, the tempo range is changed accordingly to the time difference (6-10-16-100) without notice, you want to be able to control if this can change or if you want to keep it within a certain range
- phase: even when synched you want to be able to adjust the phase of the tracks without having to desync and resync and desync
- had a couple of 1 ms silences from the software in my second gig, probably due to instability of the software. I raised the delay value and then worked fine
- there should be information about the fourth "cutting" effect on the main deck, without opening the effects panel because you never know which of the three is selected while you know about the other assigned ones.
BTW the sound card is great and I find that the whole controller has a wonderful building quality. Fix some of this stuff and I guess that we'll be fine.
