DDJ-RZX Sound Cut Out

I continue to have problems with the DDJ-RZX.

I upgraded to the latest firmware and the problem continues.

The Sound Cut outs out of nowhere. They only way to fix it, is Ito turn the unit off and back on.

I have the latest MacBook Pro with Magic TouchBar

2.9GHZ I7

16 GB Ram

 

Any ideas??? Is it my specific unit or the DDJ-RZX flawed. 
I can't continue to use it in live situations.
It's kind of embarrassing to have the sound drop dead in the middle of the party with no warning.

  • Hi, i have absolutely same problems: sometimes can't use padfx, now tracks diagrams on the rzx screens...etc. the only way is to reboot rzx. Any ideas?

I also get some random latency on some music videos where I press play, and it won't start till seconds later. It's weird!

Can anyone from Pioneer post a solution.

At this point it's a $3,000 unusual controller!

Same problem here and getting to the end of my tether. I have invested a huge amount of money into the DDJRZX with the added cost of a high end laptop and the purchase of a large library of music videos. Last night i decided i would play audio only in the hope that the DDJ would behave properly - It "crashed" as above (just went silent) at least a dozens times between 7.30 and midnight. This is totally unacceptable and under the law of "not being fit for purpose", if Pioneer do not resolve this urgently, I will be seeking a full refund plus the cost of laptop and videos.

pls guys i really need u ppls help asap am unable to activate the license key on my ddj rz pls i really dont knw how to go about it cuss am new to this rekordbox of a thing am a serato dj guy but hv tried rekorbox with my new ddj rz and am loving it but the trial period will soon end pls my fellow djs i need ur help thanks......dj mikkyfresh...

I already submitted a support ticket to Pioneer. If I don't receive an answer, I'm taking it to my dealer so they speak with a Pioneer rep.

Historically the support is rubbish. I'm getting very fed up with Pioneer and the lack of support. I'd be very interested to know if anyone is using the ddjrzx without issues? I really wish I hadn't invested in this controller. I haven't had a single night without it crashing multiple times. It's both very embarrassing and unprofessional.

Hi Xio. Did you get the required support and have you managed to resolve the audio cut out problem?
I filled out a ticket and with the guidance of Rick in support my DDJ RZX is now working perfectly. Hope you've had the same success?

Unfortunately no.

Support was terrible. All they said was if I had the latest driver and version of software to send it for repair.

Do you mind sharing what guidance Rick gave you

Hi Xio,

The fix for mine was very simple - I installed the latest version of Rekordbox and that was all. I was asked to check a few settings but they were already correct.

Firstly I apologise for the problems you're experiencing but hopefully we can get you up and running ASAP.
Before I start! I love the DDJ-RZX! One of my favourite controllers but as you've discovered it does face some steep operating requirements!
I appreciate your investment in this product and understand its frustrating when you've switched from the CDJ-2000NXS2!
I have you steps that you can follow, please can you try these and let me know how you get on?
We recently released a new version of rekordbox v4.3.1 that does improve the stability of rekordbox and rekordbox video.  Please can you open rekordbox and let the update manager take control.
In the Preferences of rekordbox navigate to the Video panel. Please select the Frame Quality as Middle.
In the Preferences of rekordbox navigate to the Audio panel. Please set the Buffer Size at 512 samples.
Again please just check that you've got the latest firmware and driver installed.
Just so you're aware the problems you're experiencing are because of the hardware demands and not the software.
We have also posted a Troubleshooting Guide for users experiencing audio and operational issues with rekordbox d and the DDJ-RZX.  This can be found in the Knowledge Base section of the Pioneer DJ Forums - https://forums.pioneerdj.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001786106-Troubleshooting-of-DDJ-RZX-issues
If the software is crashing please can you send over your crash logs?
For Windows users you can find your dmp files (crash logs) by following the below instructions;
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox\Crashes.
If the AppData folder doesn't show you can show it by following the below instructions.

I have exactly the same problems with the RZX. I changed my MacBook Pro twice. At the moment the problems continue with a 3500€ MacBook. Unfortunately I am waiting 2 week for a answer from pioneer support.. somebody has may some informations?
