Time goes on and still no midi clock

I do not understand the strategy of entering the segment of electronic instruments like the Toraiz and AS1 and not providing a simple (and even open source for link ) midi clock on Rekordbox ???

I quit the world of traktor because rekordbox was for me bleed of fresh air ... illusion ?

Well, I agree. we need this asap! Last night, even though I regularly use RB for playing, had to use Traktor as it includes Ableton Link, hooking up two computers like a breeze.

This midi clock send thing has been requested many times since early 2016 already. Why is Pioneer DJ not listening to it's customers?

  • Because its not high enough of a priority.
  • They're too busy on other features.
  • They don't have enough resources working on the product.

You know that BPM information is sent out over MIDI-over-USB, correct? And that data can be used to sync computers, correct?

Yeah, the DJMs have always sent BPM clock data over MIDI - and when the USB was introduced to carry MIDI, it did it there too.

...and you can still use a DJM, which is getting beatgrid data from rekordbox, to send BPM over MIDI. The SP-16 can even take the rekordbox beatgrid and convert it to MIDI over 5-pin DIN. Note, this is not with rekordbox DJ, but rekordbox in export mode.

My original comment stands about why sending a midi-clock in Rekordbox DJ (like Traktor or Serato) isn't available:

  • Because its not high enough of a priority.
  • They're too busy on other features/bug-fixes/supporting other/new hardware.
  • They don't have enough resources working on the product.

Also, lots of secrecy on when this might be released.  For fear of what?  Other companies like traktor, serato and virtual DJ copying them???!
