Pioneer CDJ-NXS2

I have a cdj 2000nxs2. Whilst in vinyl made and whilst playing it that just randomly slips into emergency loop mode every now and again. Once it is in loop mode it will not exit and has to be turned on and off to function properly again.

I have upgraded the firmware and checked all the ribbon connectors inside.

Anyone experienced this fault or know a solution??

This occurs when the players loses the connection to the music source.  I would suspect that your USB drive is the problem.  I would try reformatting it (FAT32) and if you continue to have issues, try using another drive altogether.

I have bought band new usbs and a new Ethernet lead and the problem is still present. Could the cause be the usb pcb?

@Ned > As @Mark says above, I think it's possibly an issue with the USB drives you're using - is that the only time it happens? Or does it happen when using rekordbox link?

What's the make/model of the USB drives you use?

I am using the latest 3.0 SanDisk usbs. But it happens with any brand Kingston or Toshiba as well. It is happening when using record box link yes.

@Ned > Which model? SanDisk makes about 20 different products. Same goes for the Kingston and Toshiba drives, I'd need to know what you're using in terms of the drive quality.

I'm having the same issues as above. I've changed to a brand new high speed USB: Sandisk Extreme Go 3.1 64GB. This has been formatted to FAT32 (as were all my previous drives)

I've a brand new LAN Cable, and just upgraded to the latest Rekordbox and Firmware. The problem remains the same.

For what its worth. I have a set of XDJ-1000's which have never had an issue with any of my USB drives.

@GMBYRVR > We'd need to know more about the tracks you were using, how many units were connected (and how), and what, if anything, you were doing on the CDJs at the time.

Its a very very long story but I'll give you as much info as I can, but as I've not been recording everything as and when, I don't have full details. In the past More often than not I've had the Emergency loop error message on its own. Once this was displayed and flashing/switching between that and "E-8309: Link Access Error". This was whilst playing 2xCDJ2000NXS2's linked to each other with a brand new LAN cable. The error code came up on the linked CDJ. i.e. the 1 without the USB drive. I cannot verify what was happening on the majority of the other ocassions. But it was with the new LAN cable and I'm fairly sure it was also with the CDJ without the USB drive in it. I cannot recall what I was doing on the CDJ's at the time on other previous ocassions.

Most of my tracks are purchased 320MP3's. With the odd wav file. After reading various threads on here today I installed software to remove 'APE Tags'. After removing them, II then loaded some tracks onto my new USB drive and tried using them.I should add that I had 2 playlists on this USB. None of which had 'APE' tags on them. It was playing fine for around 20-25 mins. The track on one CDJ with the USB drive in it had not long finished. The other mp3 track was playing via the LAN cable on the other CDJ. I wasn't doing anything. The track was just playing. Then it went to emergency loop and came up with the error message "Cannot Play track. Some player functions limited.  EMERGENCY LOOP(0060)" This was the first time I have received this error message. As with all previous ocassions; I could not get out of the loop without rebooting the CDJ. I then recreated the same scenario the best I could. With the same conditions and tracks playing. There was no error this time.

Yesterday I updated to the latest Rekordbox and firmware (1.72 I think). The USB drive was also purchased yesterday.

I would have more information, but didn;t think at the time of all the earlier errors that I'd have to document everything. I've had faults with decks before, but never anything so complex and long winded

Please please help. I'm had these months and not been able to use them properly. Deeply regretting spending so much money. Even if its to tell me of a technician that you are sure will be able to fix the issue. I'm tearing my hair out.....and I love my hair!

Update: much time spent trouble shooting today. Tried using a different branded USB drive. Problem remained. Tried using an SD card, the link function wouldn't work at all. Then I wiped both my new 3.1 Sandisk USB drive and other non san disk USB drive. I reloaded a folder directly (ie not rekordbox analysed). Again it wouldn't link at all. And now nothing will. Its beginning to look like a hardware issue and nothing to do with Rekordbox. Any thoughts?

Have you checked the ethernet port on the units? It could be a bent pin or even a problem with the jack connection to the system board inside.
