What Android and ios Devices WORK via USB on Xdj-rx

Im sick of searching forum and sorting through old post (simply dont apply) to new Recordbox compatibility. Ive had Xdj-RX for 18 months, My question is: Pioneer still claims this unit is compatible with Android and ios. I have 3 different Android phones, that read as a USB error (cant connect to xdj-rx via USB)- will rooting phones work? Dont care about warranty; id prefer to have Rekordbox on phone or ipad for last minute sets at Clubs with Cdjs- via USB. Also Id really like to connect my ipad mini via USB. All firmware is up to date, analyzed and exported. My SD cards all work when removed from Androids and inserted into USB 1 or 2. All Fat32 Sandisk. Please give we your root tweak or JB tweaks and or an Android Device suggestion (that connects via USB). Pioneer... please tell mehow to make my Android/ios device compatible with xdj-rx.... Thats what you advertise. THX  I think I fall out of the disclaimer of (some devices are not compatible)? No worries! Please give me a list of compatible devices via USB. Also id really like feedback on your experience with rooted Androids. Pretty sure this is an OTG/ MTP problem with new Androids ( pretty sure root will fix). Please share your experience and tweaks. My experience: Android and ios is NOT compatible via USB on Xdj-rx.
