XDJ-RX Wireless Link Issue

I've successfully connected my XDJ-RX to my MacBook Pro using both the ethernet cable and via WiFi. This is great but the only way I get the link icon to appear at the bottom of the Rekordbox screen is if I re-start the laptop.

Is there a solution so I don't need to re-start each time?

Yes, I'm connecting via the router. When I'm successful in having the link icon show at the bottom of the Rekordbox screen I do have to firstly accept some permissions from a couple of processes. These requests only appear after a re-start. I'm not at home right now but can do some screen shots of these requests tonight.

Thanks for your quick response :D

First, those connections should all be set to "allow permanently" so they don't pop up and ask you every time. There are 4 of them - see here for more information on the firewall configuration / troubleshooting.

Second, the router itself may have traffic management which can disrupt or block the data flow between rekordbox and the RX. I know you'd like to use WiFi, but the reliability isn't there for all devices, and as such, I recommend using a hard-wired ethernet where possible.

Thanks for the reply Pulse, after doing some additional research I've turned off the firewall and am using an app called "Little Snitch" to manage my connections. This has eliminated the warnings.

The issue of having to re-start the computer to be able to view the Link icon if I have closed Rekordbox or switched off the RX is still present. I have seen this issue mentioned elsewhere in the forum but with no solution offered so far. I'm not too worried by this slight annoyance.

Yeah, LittleSnitch is awesome!

It sounds possible that it's an operating system hiccup or possible a conflict between the version of rekordbox and operating system. Hopefully something that will be resolved in a future update, but as you say, it's more of a nuisance than a mission-critical flaw. ;)

Installed the latest update of Rekord Box and now the link button is available all of the time without the need to re-start.

Issue resolved :D

Thanks for the help Pulse!

Awesome - I know they had addressed a few of those bugs that arose with 4.4.x.
