DDJ RX won't control rekordbox - Have tried troubleshooting inc reinstalls

I purchased DDJ RX a couple of days ago and am at a loss to why I can't get the set up working. Some help would be appreciated.

As far as I am aware I have all the right things downloaded and installed but I am new to using rekordbox so I'm not sure if there is a simple setting I have missed or set incorrectly. I have gone through the troubleshooting guide and spent past couple of evenings trying to get this working so apologies if the answer is in these forums, I have tried to find it.

Basically the issue is the controller will not control rekordbox. I can see the device listed on my PC, also if I try to run the firmware update without the controller connected it tells me to connect it. So the computer does know the device is there. I have a 1210 connected and if change to phone can play that through the mixer. Also I can get sound from Rekordbox through the mixer. If I load a track and press play in rekordbox then it plays but the only control I have over it is the master rotary level. Can't select Cue, channel faders make no difference, jog wheel doesn't work etc.

To confirm:

1. - I am running Windows 10 
2. - I have windows driver pack 1.10 installed with DDJ RX firmware 1.04
3. - I have attempted numerous uninstalls and reinstalls 
4. - I have been on the phone to pioneer UK support and they couldn't solve and asked me to contact rekordbox.
5. I am in performance mode

Please someone help me get this sorted.
