This is how it could possibly work for you. I can test this for you when I receive my new DDJ-800 in a few days as I own an Interface 2, and the setup would essentially be the same idea. Ideally, you're looking to use your DDJ-1000 as a mixer with the Interface 2 unlocking Rekordbox DVS. You can definitely do this if you use the DDJ-1000 as an analog mixer not connected directly to Rekordbox. If you wanted to have both connected to be able to use the effects on the DDJ-1000 is where my knowledge ends.

Pioneer Dj Interface 2
I currently run 2x 1210's with my DDJ 1000 and pay for a monthly Core subscription with Rekordbox, a monthly cost which i am looking to avoid.
I am considering purchasing a Dj Interface 2 as i want to cancel the monthly subscription but am seeing a lot of conflicting opinions online.
Some are saying it will work fine but others are saying its not compatible and i need to continue to pay subscription to unlock.
Any advice will be appreciated.

I'm learning more as I research this. The DDJ-1000 has hardware effects. I was not aware of that. Man, how great is that?! You can then use it as a standalone mixer. The only thing I don't know for sure is if you can plug both the Interface-2 and the DDJ-1000 into your laptop together to be able to utilize all of the features of both while using Rekordbox.

It should work fine. Interface will unlock the rekordbox, so you can cancel the subscription. DDJ 1000 would work as a standalone mixer, with all the external effects.
