Sorry, the limitation is due to legacy support for FAT32 drives, whose filesystem maxes out at 255 characters.

255 Character Limit - Solution?
Is there a solution / work around for this? My music is stored centrally on a Nas Drive and is arranged via iTunes. Due to all of the playlists and different apps used in the house. It doesn't make sense to move the files around or create duplicate copies. Any help would be appreciated.
