Sample Banks Empty

I have just updated to RB 6.6.11 and found that my sample banks were empty. I had a post earlier which did not get much traction and wanted to reiterate that this bug still exists. After some troubleshooting I have found out why it is happening and hope RB team can correct the issue. I was able to recreate the issue several times. I am using a mac so I dont know if this same issue exists in Windows or not. 

All of my samples and media are on an external hard drive. when I start RB without my drive I have noticed that my Sample bank would be empty. I was able to recreate this be restoring they backup SamplerSettings1.xml file and then troubleshooting RB and everytime I start RB without my external dribe, the sampler bank would be empty and it would overwrite the previous SamplerSettings1.xml file upon exiting RB. the only way to get them back was to replace the file from a backup. Hope this helps and is fixed to be handled gracefully where the banks should not be empty but disabled until the samples are available to be played.
