My DJM 250 motherboard is toast thanks to a hosing from my cat. I do most of my mixing on laptop nowadays, but the rekordbox FX are fiddly to use without external hardware. I'm considering getting a Traktor X1 to use with the laptop as a replacement for the 250.
Question: My Rekordbox license came with the DJM 250, is there any way I could use the X1 without having the DJM250 plugged in at the same time?

You are using rekordbox 6, correct?
If yes, then to use the X1 you would either need to have the mixer also connected or have a paid plan activated. (ie. Core Plan or higher plan)
As you would need to map the X1.
But please be aware that not all functions are MIDI assignable. Some functions are not available with third party controller.
