DJM 700 midi clock

Hi,

i'm not able to use the midi clock function with my djm 700-k. I set up everything properly, in the mixer and in my slave software, and i can use every other kind of midi messages, but i simply don't know how to send a "play" message from the mixer. Is there a combination of buttons, maybe?

Can someone help me, please???

MIDI Start/Stop isn't designed to send a "Play" signal, it's used to send a clock START or STOP message (this is different from MIDI ON/OFF).

If you want to configure it to "play" something, you need to map a button to that feature within the software.

I know, but when i press the button, the device doesn't sent out any midi message. I connected it to a little utility called MidiOX, a sort of midi port scanner that prints on the screen every incoming or outgoing midi message, and when i press the MIDI Start/Stop button, no midi message is displayed. Even MISI clock messages seem to

I'm familiar with MIDI-OX, it's my recommended diagnostic tool, so at least you're headed in the right direction.  What is the interface you're using to connect the 700 to the computer?

I tryed with a quite old Terratec audio card, and with a midi-usb interface by M-audio.

I know the M-Audio Uno has problems, so if that's the one you're using, it could be the reason it's not working.

When connected to your Terratec card, does that device appear within MIDI-OX and do you have it selected?

Yes, i do. Every other midi message works properly: every knob, fader, button etc... But there's no midi clock output, and no start/stop messages...

Are you sure that those aren't filtered by MIDI-OX?  I know I have mine set to filter them out because they contribute an enormous amount of data to the log window.

mmh, ok. I'm gonna check it out. But even Reason6 doesn't receive this kind of messages... I'm writing here again in a couple of days; thank you so much!
