nice timing pulse :p
what I tried to say is the same as you did...
We appreciate that you passed this concern along to the engineers!
We know that waiting is the only option for us... but please don't let us wait to long :)
I went to use the Sidechain effects on the touchpad for the first time in ages and remembered quickly why I don't use them.
Because the effects quickly send my gain levels into the red.
Has this already been addressed or will it ever?

As previously stated, there is no expected timeline on release but I did reiterate the issue and concern and they are aware of the complaints.
Hey Pulse You must have to hold back sometimes,ha ha ha, Reading these posts on here of late must hack you off,I hope Pioneer pay you well Pulse ,Hang in there mate, But it does show the punters feelings on this matter, I myself feel happy with the responses from yourself on this matter and will wait patiently for the fix The djm2k isn't unusable by a long way in fact my set up is running sweet , a pleasure to own/use as is the use of these forums.
Well, it's an unpaid position but it comes with perks, and I have to take the bad with the good. I enjoy helping people and as a DJ myself, I know it can be frustrating when something doesn't work so it's great to have resources to get things going... and as an owner / user of the 2000, I too am waiting and hoping for a fix to the same issues you're complaining about, so don't just think it's only the forum members who are unhappy!
Fair statement and fair play to you Pulse , there are many of us that appreciate the help, Good Work .
Thanks. :)
@Pulse, thanks for the reassuring reply. Just so we are clear, this has nothing to do with you, it's all about Pioneer's customer support.
@D Mark Mills: I never said the mixer was unusable, I said most of the effects that are affected by the levels issue make them useless. If I wanted a mixer with less options, I would have bought the cheaper ones! I bought the 2000 for a reason and they are currently flawed.
Cheers
How come my comment is removed ? :/ didn't say something wrong...
@untitled : My comment about the djm2k being far from unusable was my own feeling on this matter and was not directed at anyone in particular , but what do you mean when you say "most of the effects are useless due to the levels" .The only issue I have is with the Sidechain levels which everyone on this post agree's, all the other effects are fine and work well on my mixer, maybe you have more issues perhaps .
The noise effect is also way too high.
@Morgo : That's fair comment but you just turn it (start low and bring it up into the mix ) down to suit the output , the sidechain level is way too loud at nearly zero on the level slider ! crazy setting update !
Yeah I know but still not ideal. It is easier with a knob than with the touch screen.
I love using the touch screen and i use it often, also use the noise knob often, before using both of those, i have to remember to turn the volume to MIN, sometimes i forget and it ruins the mix. Sure there's people out there that are very smart with a great memory and always remember to turn the gains down, but i usually forget till i hear the awful sound, especially when there's alcohol around :( Other effects would be sweet, but we just need these sound levels fixed atm.
I agree with the sound levels, But that still wouldn't make the sidechain useful to me...
I would be happy if there would be some effects on the touchscreen. Filter , echo.. For example a small korg kaoss pad.
That would be soo awesome :)
@TheOne > Sorry, I removed the comment (which was a bit off-topic) because you said something about having posted it in another thread ... I may have misunderstood and there wasn't actually another thread.
All djm's i touched go into red with effects if you set your regular sound to 0db (DJM2000 , DJM900 and the DJM800) All i touched by now ...
Owyeah and i forgot about this :
If you are adding an echo/other effect turn a highpass filter (Filter at colour effects and then turn knob to the right)
I also hoop to see a fix for this.
Yesterday I almost blew out my eardrums while mixing..
The levels are wayyy too high! but that's obvious ;)
Reported it the day after the release, hope to finally see a fix for it.
Other than that I love my pioneer 2000 setup :)
I do wonder if buying a 900 would've been money better well spent.
@MUSICHAOS I hear you..
I would personally always pick a DJM-2000 over the 900 because I like all the options and effects and I don't use traktor.
I personally can't understand why a company acknowledged problems with a FW update just after the release and not fixing it within a 11 month timeframe..
but that's just me ;)
Ain't just you, it's me also. I'm not happy with how pioneer is handling this issue. I can see if this was an issue from day one and they just can't figure out the problem. But this problem has been caused cause of them, and we are stuck with this firmware, i really wish there was a way to downgrade the firmware to the one before the last one, but unfortunately we can't. I would be more happy with the sound levels fixed than the MT fix, i hardly ever use MT, but do in fact use the touchscreen and noise feature. I understand that i can lower the volume to min, to keep the levels low, but sometimes either me or a friend forget to lower it to min, and the sounds gets crazy and ruins the set.
I just can't under stand the nearly 12 month wait. I under stand time and money. But I'm just lost as to why so long. I think me and every one else that owns one is just very disappointed in the handling of this matter.
@Morgo I think I can safely say we are..

This is good in a way. I can honestly say I am no longer devoted to Pioneer. My next upgrade/change consideration will definitely be open to other brands. Pioneer customer support and customer service truly sucks azz. I even tried calling in to complain about this issue, what a joke that was. Seems like their new style is "sell it and run"...I just might adopt that concept as well...

i'm new to dj'n, but i did a lot of research and it seemed like Pioneer was the best choice to go with, i was happy when i first received my 2000 kit, but once i installed their update, i was very disappointed. Why doesn't Pioneer test things before they release a software that we can't even downgrade from????? I'm now stuck with this issue.
We are 1 year passed the why question now. I am in what the mode now.
I sent them an e-mail, but i highly doubt they'll respond. They seem to be avoiding us now, they'll just come out with a new mixer and hope everyone stops buying the 2000. I'm guessing the 2000s are being sold with this new "old" "messed up" software???? I'm also sure that Pulse or another mod will delete some of these posts so that new buyers don't read this. Like you said.
I repost me suggestions here, because I sent them nearly 1 year around to Pioneer suggestion, gave them to the European Support and sent it to Japan.
DJM 2000:
MUST HAVES:
- The mixer definitely needs a 100% fade of the jet AND the filters in the inst fx section!!!
- The gain/volume of the noise and side chains MUST set down maybe to the old level or a bit increased! I nearly blow up the sound system when using it the first time!!!
WISHES:
- It would be nice to have the full bpm in the screen (with decimals), f.e. 128,34 bpm!
- @ The new reverb, it would be awesome to set the length of the tail by turning the freq. knobs from 12 to end, like in the echo! Then you've got the ability of room changing and of length of the reverb! This is very important by doing some melodic music (Trance, House), because you can splash out vocals or melodies without changing the pitch like with the room size :-)
- It would be awesome, when you using the side chain sample, that if no frequency is selected, you get a 4 beat loop to play with, like a roll! Imagine how crazy stuff you can do by changing the pitch with a finger
- And also, if no frequency is selected, you can use the oscillators 1-4 as a drum pad, just by hitting the touch screen! :-)
- And maybe, it should have a high pitch at the zip effect too, but I don't know exactly, how to realize it with the parameter knob... (Your creativity is asked!!! J )
- New Effects to the side chain, or additive effects from the 900 NEXUS
@Xader: That's exactly how the mixer should be!
Especially the SideChain FX should get more "useful" Effects like a simple Filter or an Echo.
Something really powerful is the usage of the Beat Color Effects within the DJM 850. This Function in the Touch input of the DJM 2000 would be awesome.
