DJM-900 or DJM-800 & RMX-1000

Kind of just looking for suggestions.  Which do you think is more useful, upgrading the djm-800 to a djm-900 or just adding an RMX-1000?

The Remix is the nuts!! but it depends on what you have already in terms of a mixer.

i would suggest from your 3 options the 900 personally.

Go 900, more overall benefits.  Adding an RMX would obviously be nice, but I think significantly upgrading your mixer platform is far more important.

Well I own 2-cdj-2000's and a DJM-800.

To clarify, I was going to just add the rmx-1000 to my setup, or sell the 800 and upgrade to a 900.

Remix 1000

Without a doubt, cheaper option, there is nowt wrong with the 800 and the 900 doesnt do half of what the remix does.

but it depends on if you want traktor compatabillity etc but if your just looking at fx then remix for sure,

If you've already got an 800, it's a great mixer -- I feel that adding the RMX vs. upgrading the mixer to the 900 is the better option in terms of value.

I have the same decision to make except i have the djm-700k mixer and 2 cdj900s. would adding the rmx-1000 benefit me in terms of effects or should i upgrade my mixer to the djm-900.

I agree with Pulse, if you already have the djm 800 just add an rmx and this should help to curb your effects needs. On the other hand if you own the djm 700 I strongly recommend the upgrade to the djm 900 nexus it is a great mixer. I have said it before that the djm 900 is not a giant leap but more of a step in the right direction when compared to the djm 800. Compared to the djm 700 on the other hand it is a giant leap in my opinion.

Why? For one you get four seperate four channel color effects. The x pad is an awesome addition to mess with effects such as slip roll, spiral, roll/reverse roll, echo and reverb. Not to mention the ability to combine the beat effects with the color effects can result in some nice layered combinations. You get isolaters, when used correctly can help with transitioning from one track to another. A better sounding mixer significantly enough where you can tell the difference. If you use traktor 2 software this is a plus since the djm 900 allows you to plug straight through from your laptop to the mixer with out having to use the audio soundcard boxes.

Thanx! i bought the rmx-1000 and after messing around with it I surely feel that upgrading my 700 to the 900 would be better.

@Nelic > Congrats on your purchase! I think you were right in purchasing the RMX first and then waiting to upgrade your mixer.

I've recently used DJM800s and even a DJM600 with the RMX-1000 and to be honest the RMX really makes it all work no matter what... of course the 600 was a mixer I was never fond of because of the master 'fader' but that's old skool now. Especially with the HPF Echo makes swapping basslines/kicks so smooth.

Obviously the DJM900 & 2000 with the RMX is the best combination- no more fx processing in the mixer other than the filter & EQ on each channel (oh and the pro link for the sexy red LED lights) the RMX is much more than a processor- it makes your older mixers (with send/return) work much nicer for the mixes... :)
