@mario s > The Mic2 1/4" mic connection is an unbalanced TS.
I have recently experienced in both my Pioneer DJM-800 and DJM-900, the Microphone 2 jack, does not let signal pass through from a shure SM58 using a balanced microphone XLR (female) to 1/4TRS (male) wire. I know the microphone and wire work, because they work in microphone 1 jack. I then connected a Shure PGx24 SM58 Beta (Wireless) microphone to the same jack, using the same XLR (Female) to 1/4 TRS (Male) in Microphone jack 2 and the Microphone jack 2 allows signal to pass. What is the reason for this? I then thought that Microphone jack 2 was an unbalanced connection and connected an XLR (Female) to 1/4 TS (male) cable with Shure SM58 to Microphone 2 jack, and I was able to see signal pass. So my question is, Why can I use the Wireless Microphone in Jack 2, using a balanced cable, and not the wired Shure SM58 with the same balanced cable? Is there something wrong with my Microphone 2 Jacks? on both mixers? Has anyone else experienced this? I have tried to look in the manuals and contacted Tech Support over the phone to get an answer, and no answers.
