[SOLVED] DJM 2000 firmware update problem - not recognising the network

Hi

I finally saved enough to get my brand new (ex demo) DJM 2000 at the weekend. Completely in love with it and VERY happy.

My only problem is I cannot get my PC Windows 7 laptop or my Snow Leopard iMac o be able tot connect to the DJM 2000 to be able to update the firmware.

I've tried to follow the video tutorial and also the firmware update manual Pioneer produced

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1UkrvonamY

All I get is the white screen on DJM saying 0% and trying to connect, and neither my laptop or my mac recognise the DJM. I've tried to alter the suggest DCHP settings but they are set up as recommended.

None of the LAN pins on the DJM look damaged, and I'm just really stumped how best to resolve this.

Has anyone had similar probs before - I know it was an ex-demo unit but don't imagine anything bad happened mechanically, and it's likely some software driver issue (I've added the drivers on the enclosed disk but I think these are just for the USB ?)

Hope somebody can help as would love to get the latest firmware in there.

Many thanks!!

Jane Dalton

Just a bit more info as I had another go this morning.

I tried to let the pc and DJM 2000 stay connected for over a minute once I'd started up the DJM in update mode and it went to it's white screen (as read somewhere that sometimes it takes 30secs-minute to assign an IP address ?), but sadly was no different.

It stiil just goes to it's white update screen and when I then started the Pioneer update tool on my Laptop, the screen is changing from "DJM-2000 Firmware Update version 1.28 please send the update file from your PC" to "trying to connect to your PC - 0% update" once I start running the updater on my laptop.

So I 'think' it must be connected to an extent with the LAN cable (as why would it know I'm trying to update from the laptop and change text on the white screen?) - but then it's still doing the same thing. Staying at 0% and not "connecting".

Hope somebody can give me some advice as really want to get all my gear talking to each other as rather stuck with this one ? :/

There is not infinite problems with the DJM2000.

Try making sure all antivirus programs are switched off or disabled any installed one or operating systems ones and give it a try again and see if that works.

Thanks so much Morgo and will give it a try :) I've only got basic Microsoft antivirus/malware on my laptop (never use Norton or any of that) and none on my mac, but will give it a go on my laptop tonight :)

Cheers so VERY much Morgo - you were totally right thanks !!!

I did a bit more digging and found this tutorial vid (from Pulse!) and it helped me get the things talking to each other.

AMAZED at just how good the new updates are - now a VERY happy DJM 2000 owner :)

I found on my MacBook Pro that if I had WiFi enabled along with my wired connection, I couldn't update the Firmware. The application just wouldn't find the mixer. The instant I turned off WiFi, BAM! Instant connection. I tried it out a few times to ensure that was the case.
