[SOLVED] djm-700 midi and analogue

Hello all,

I own a djm-700 sometime ago but due to family reasons i did not had the time to work with it.

Now things are better. My question is

when in midi mode can i use any of the channels to connect an analogue source? ???

I mean... i know that sound from the software will not go backto the mixer (djm-700 just sends the midi messages).

Is there any possible way to exploit ... lets say two out of the four channels for analogue output when in midi mode????

thank you

jim kap

@zevooazaz >  What exactly are you trying to achieve? What software are you planning on using with the mixer?

I'm trying to have source options.

my setup is simple.

Denon HD-2500, an ordinary double cd player, djm700, an a laptop.

I have worked with the demo versions of traktor, vdj and ableton live. Probably vdj it will be what i will buy.

I just want to send midi messages in order to control the s/w. I don't want the asio to "occupy" the HD2500 (i'm using it as a standalone player).

the question was that if midi messages are working along with the traditional mixer operation.

I haven't buy a midi to usb cable yet, in order to test something like that.

Another question that arises is that if the fader start option cooperates with the dn-hd2500. What cable is needed to connect with the mixer???

thank you for the response

@Zevooazaz > Yes, thats certainly possible to have certain channels for MIDI use and others for 'normal' use.

The control cable required for Fader start is a simple 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack cable. However, fader start isn't a standardised method of operation from one manufacturer to another so it may not work perfectly (or at all). Still, you probably have one of those cables lying around so you might as well test it!

Hope this helps!
