[SOLVED] Record DJM-2000 mixes with an idevice & Garageband

So I'll be using the Record-Out outputs (RCA?) from my DJM-2000. After much research I've learned the only way to get a stereo "input" into an i-device is to use the doc-connector (headset jack is mono only). So.... I found a cable on A M A Z O N dot-com that is a 30pin connect on one end (for i-devices older than iphone 5 and ipad 4) and two L&R RCA connectors at the other end.  I'm waiting for the cable to arrive (was $9 w/ s&h) and hope this solves my quest to record music on my i-device and tweak the settings in Garageband.

Has anyone done anything similar? Should I be recording in stereo or mono?  I do use the fx on the DJM-2000 so I'm guessing stereo?  Any help (Audacity sucks) would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Not much experience with recording to an iDevice but I do record mixes directly into Logic.  The process should be similar or identical in Garageband.

Connect your DJM-2000 through USB to the Computer with the recording software

Go to your audio Settings and make sure your DJM is set to 6 output & 2 Inputs

Open Garageband

Go to Preferences--> Audio

Make your DJM-2000 the "Input device"

Create an audio track, make sure DJM-2000 is the input device for the track

You should be good to go!

Like I said, not sure if garageband will be identical but should be close. The audio quality of the recording will be better using this method. The cables on amazon can be sketchy sometimes.  Hope this helps!
