Use the Parameter knob to control the volume of the Noise Inst FX. I agree, it should be less harsh but keeping the parameter "low" has worked well for me.

[SOLVED] DJM-2000 Feature request/fix for the Noise FX
I've got the latest firmware for the DJM-2000 (3.x) but I've noticed the "Noise Inst FX" in particular dramatically raises the output sound by about 23 decibels. This is ridiculous if you ask me and renders the effect useless (to me). My question is, can I request that someone lowers the "Noise" Inst FX to a more acceptable level. All of the other FX were fixed in the 3.x firmware update except the aforementioned.

We've suggested this to the engineers to change the levels in a firmware update.
