I have a pair of JVL 15" passive speakers (http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/MR900%20Series/MR925.pdf) Which I drive with one Crown CE 1000 amp (http://www.crownaudio.com/media/pdf/legacy/125645.pdf) I would like to use that setup as booth monitor, but I don't seem to get any sound from it.
This is what I did... I plugged the DJM900nexus' Booth monitor terminals (with a cable TSR on one end and SLR on the other end) to the input terminals of the CE1000. these mixer and speakers aren't supposed to work for booth monitors? Do I have to use a powered speaker for the booth terminal? Or did I just fried the mixers' booth terminals by plugging it to an Amp?
The connections are correct. because the same setup (amp and speakers) work fine (music comes out of the speakers, loud and clear) if plugged to the mixer's Master Out terminals, but there is no sound if plugged to the Booth terminals Please advice.

The booth output on a DJM-900NXS is a balanced line output. So you need to use 6.3mm TRS (Tip, ring, sleeve) for the connections going to the mixer (which it sounds like you have).
Stupid question, but have you turned the Booth Monitor level control up? It's to the right of the faders.
Yes, I have turned the booth monitor level control up. I will have to check on the cable I am using. it was a regular XLR cable and I purchased xlr to TSR connectors I do not know if they are 6.3 TRS (tip, ring, sleeve) How can find that out?

Be weary of XLR adapters, as you need to know which pin is wired to what, the back of the mixer will be labeled to show each pin, Hot, Cold and GND. GND is Ground, Hot is the signal, Cold is the same signal in the reverse phase, which is a how a balanced signal works.
It's a bit confusing, but where balanced signals are used you need three contacts per stereo channel, as listed above. So to do this with a 6.3mm (aka quarter inch jack) they use TWO stereo jacks (one for the left channel, one for the right). A stereo 1/4 inch jack has three contacts, which are separated by two black lines (insulators). This is known as the Tip, the Ring and the Sleeve (TRS).
You need to ensure that the Hot pin of the XLR end, is connected to the relevant Hot pin on the 1/4 inch jack going to your monitors. Same goes for the other connections.

The problem was the XLR cable I was using it was a bad cable. the adapters are stereo (tip, ring sleeve) it works now.
