[CLOSED] Soaking a Pioneer Mixer in alcohol?

And no I don't mean the stuff you drink before you play at a club, I mean the stuff you clean with. I was spinning with a buddy of mine a couple weeks ago and he spilled some Monster on my DJM 700. Its still works perfectly fine, except for the fact that the effect on/off switch has stopped clicking, albeit it still works okay. And the time encoder is a little sticky and not as accurate as it used to be. But anyway I once heard of a guy that had taken his 800 out to Burning Man in the desert, gotten a bunch of sand and crap inside of it, and to clean it and get it back in working order, he soaked the ENTIRE mixer in a bucket of cleaning alcohol for a day, let it dry out for 2 or 3 days, and afterwards it was working like it was brand new again. I'm not sure if this is even remotely true, but has anyone ever heard of this before, or actually tried anything like it? I do know Pioneer mixers are built like tanks, because I've had mine dropped, and its been totally soaked with water under a leaky ceiling before and it still works fine, so I would image using more or less a bath of alcohol to clean it would make sense. But what I really want it just to get my effects section back to normal.

Any help would very much appreciated!!!

Let me get this straight, you want to soak an electrical unit in a bath of alcohol?

Not necessarily, I'm sure there are easier ways to go about cleaning just a few switches, but I'm just really curious as to if anyone has ever done this before.

Umm... "he soaked the ENTIRE mixer in a bucket of cleaning alcohol for a day, let it dry out for 2 or 3 days" I'd love to see proof that the mixer was working afterwards :D

Ok, rule of thumb - do not expose your Pioneer equipment to any sort of liquid agent. By doing so you severely risk permanently damaging your electronics. If you need to get your equipment serviced, do so at an authorised service centre.
