No sound coming from master2 of new DJM-900 nexus

I received a DJM-900 tonight, sold by Amazon. I unpacked the mixer connected my two technics turntables and immediately had problems (note this is no fancy setup using traktor yet, it is just plain old vinyl). While I can see that if I play a track all levels are moving, on both CH1 & 4, as well as the master levels are showing sound.

However, no sound is coming from master2 that is connected to my amp. I also checked the booth out, and nothing there as well. I unfortunately don't have a possibility to try master1 right now (lack of the right cables). Note that I can hear sound coming from my headphones, and I can here sound cueing from the individual channels and from the master. But I can't get anything not even noise from the master2 or booth outputs. The only way I could get sound to my amplifier was through the rec out, but that is not really what it is for! I hope that I am overlooking something entirely stupid, but right now, I wouldn't know what. And yes I have checked the master attenuation and it is set to 0 db. Any suggestions?

Just borrowed an XLR to RCA cable from a friend, and there is also nothing from master1.

Is there a possibility that I need to attach the mixer to my computer and change a setting of the built-in soundcard?

This is very frustrating...

Hi Fredrik! Unfortunately, I did not. After fiddling with all the settings, I concluded that the unit was defect and returned it. The unit that I bought was one that was a store unit before, and had lower price. So I just decided to pay 200$ more and buy the real thing for the full price. Sorry that I cannot be of more help. Good luck with your unit.

@Fredrik > Provided you have signal on the master level meter, you should have output on both the MASTER 1 (XLR) and MASTER 2 (RCA) and they should also output simultaneously. Check your cables as well.

Hello!

When i start a song and i have rca cable between master 2 and my speakers its no sound sometimes the sound starts after a little while in a minute or so and then its gone again. When its gone and i turn on the trim, master and speakers volyme it always comes back again and the master lights is showing. After a while the sound is dissapearing again. If i connect the speakers to rec out i works better. I am going to let a store that i have done the latest service check on it.

@Fredrik > When the sound is NOT coming out of the master output, does the master level meter show any activity? You want to have the meter showing around the 0dB mark.

The REC output will send signal independent of the master outputs as the signal level there is controlled by the channel gain and the channel levels, not the master level.

Ciao!
I'm having the same issue on my djm 900 nexus.
Suddenly, both master and master2 outputs stopped working, with an output level suuuper low.
Tried everything but can't sort this out. How did you solve in the end? Why when I try to reset from the club settings the device won't allow me and keep coming back to the "no" option?
Please help me I need it back asap. Thanks a lot in advance.

@Gabriele > Sorry to hear about that - did you check that the input levels were okay?

Do you have the same issue on the XLR output?

Finally solved by replacing a little dead resistor R2821 of 4.7 k ohm in the back of the Main Assy, its located in the High Current stage according to service manual and thats between the AK4390 DAC and the pre-amp stage of master outputs. Here goes a video showing the resistor and successfull testing. Hope this helps other people to restore their DJM 900 nxs master outputs:
