Performance Pads for CDJ NXS + DJM NXS set ups

I really love playing with Rekordbox and plan to continue (DJM 900NXS + x2 CDJ 900NXS) however, one of the items that I feel is missing from this format is the performance pads you get on certain controllers.  If Pioneer offered a unit like the DDJ-SP1 for use with Rekordbox + CDJs, I know I would buy it and I am sure many others would be interested.  I feel like the CDJ's are the flagship lines for Pioneer, so shouldn't they have the features that are available on the controllers?  I understand that the XDJ has some of those features but what about those that already have purchased CDJs?  If the firmware of the CDJ 2000 NXS and CDJ 900 NXS can be modified to work with the DDJ-SP1 unit, that would increase the sales of that unit exponentially.  Pioneer already makes the hardware, wouldn't this be a software change and less expensive to develop???

Obviously with the release of products like the R1 and RX, there is movement forward on the rekordbox front and these products are certainly newer than the CDJ family. Even the XDJ-1000 which fits into the "single player" category has more features akin to what you're asking for - the touchscreen allows for these additional functions.

As for integrating the SP1, it's a fantastic unit and I too would love to see the ability to control more functions through it, but as it is a MIDI unit and the signal would have to be received by the computer (not a CDJ) to then interpret that information and send it to the appropriate player, it might not be possible, but I assure you that the engineers are always tinkering around and it wouldn't surprise me if one of them already jury-rigged one for this exact purpose. If that's the case, hopefully we'll see something in the future!

That would be ideal.  I have considered the XDJ1000 as a 3rd deck but I would prefer the hardware buttons of the SP! over a touch screen
