Drivers need updating for DVS enabled DJM mixers...

I have been having an ongoing issue with Traktor and Serato regarding DJM mixers with DVS capability. There are a few guys on the Traktor forum with the same issue though the N.I. support team haven't acknowledged the problem yet.  On the flip side, Serato have identified the problem and are working to provide some kind of 'fix' for this issue.

Basically there is a random dropout in audio, immediately followed by a 1 or 2 second lag in timecode control. A workaround for this is to change latency settings to a different value and then back again. I have had the same issue using CDj's in HID mode, when it happens the CDJ screen stops refreshing and the USB connection needs replugging.

There is information on the Serato website stating that the problem occurs in OS X Mavericks and Yosemite. The problem is due to a difference in the timing of OS X and the DJM mixers. Apple have clearly changed something and at this point it seems fairly obvious that the various Pioneer DJM drivers will need updating.

This issue is not limited to just DJM mixers, Serato have confirmed the problem with other manufacturers as well. Also, it is an intermittent issue, It could have easily slipped past testing.

So based on all this, my question is when will the drivers be updated to reflect this change in OS X?

I've passed this to the engineers for investigation, thanks for your patience.

Quote from Serato forums :

"this is an issue whereby the hardware driver dis-connects from the (Apple) OS and then re-connects at a very high latency. It is fundamentally an Apple issue"

Further digging shows that it is an issue with core audio drivers. Also, some of the affected companies are working on drivers that work around this problem, because at the end of the day it is up to the hardware manufacturers to make sure their products work correctly.

Also, that quote from the Serato forums is over a year old, this issue isn't exactly new!

Thanks Pulse, with the upcoming OS X El Capitan, I think there will be even more need for updated drivers.
