@paige > There are tons of stand-alone recorders, as @walter_white has linked. Those will be your best bet to record without a computer.
I was also thinking about this the other day. Will the quality be as good as recording through USB on your laptop with Audacity? That is if I get a decent external recorder?
The quality won't be as good when using an analog connection to an external recorder as when you record over USB to your computer as the signal needs to be converted digital > analog, and there is more risk for noise and interference. You could get a digital recorder as the DJM-900nexus has a digital coax output.
Hi Pulse,
I have not thought about the digital out option. Will go do some research on recorders with digital inputs :)
Thanks
As Pulse mentioned, the DJM-900 digital coax out is awesome for home recording to a digital recorder (ex. Tascam DR-100mkII), but is affected by the Main volume which may vary in a live venue scenario. As many clubs don't use the record out as main out, it WOULD BE AWESOME to be able to change the digital out to pre/post main volume in the mixers club settings.
