Rekordbox 1.1.4 for iOS will not analyze all my files

Hi all,

Well, I'm now a proud owner of a shiny new Pioneer XDJ Aero, and would love to use this in combination with Rekordbox on my iPad! So, I went on the App Store, downloaded the Rekordbox app (shame this is only available as an iPhone and not as an iPad app). Once it was downloaded, I opened up the app, tapped the Import button and selected 'Add all Songs'. I've got about 500 songs on my iPad at this time, and Rekordbox understandably took some time adding them all to its library. As this did take some time, I assumed that while importing, Rekordbox analyzed those files to detect the BPM and quantization values. Once that was done, it took me no time to hook up my iPad to the Aero using WiFi, and I was also able to load songs without any problems. However, as soon as a track is loaded, I now get a message saying 'The "Quantisation" and "Synchronisation" functions are not applied to the unanalysed files'...

I tested this by loading a song on each deck and trying to have them synched, however this didn't work. Now, while I could live without beat synching, I really would like to get quantisation functionality working and I don't want to see this message pop up each time I load a new song, since this simply gets annoying over time and should work correctly. I even removed the app, installed it again, went into settings and switched 'Track analysis mode' to 'dynamic' and then imported everything again - however this didn't help whatsoever...

Also, it's kind of weird that when I open one of those tracks in the browser, I can actually see the BPM and everything looks perfectly fine...

Any help with this issue greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,

Robin.

It's enabled on both decks... Also, I've now tried doing exactly the same on an iPad Mini (the iPad I used previously was an iPad 2 and I was thinking the hardware might be too slow for all the analysis), but keep getting exactly the same issue... This is pretty frustrating, especially since I have no idea what the problem might be and Rekordbox gives me exactly no clue either...

Thanks for any more help!!!

@Robin > One of the engineers caught this thread before I got time to reply to hit. Here is some information he wanted to pass along:

"- Analyzing tracks takes place in the background so as not to prevent a user from operating something on screen, which is in the foreground.

  • It takes some time until all his 500 tracks are finished. We think tracks he loaded onto XDJ-AERO were not finished being analyzed yet at that time.

  • What makes him feel weird is that rekordbox puts a priority on tracks in the foreground such as those playing on the prepare-player so as to show waveforms to a user quickly.

What we can suggest is to leave rekordbox for some reasonable time, and let it run analyzing all through the imported tracks; then, try loading tracks to XDJ-AERO."
