USB Stick givign error codes :S

Firstly - its not my first rekordbox system so im quite upto speed with the whole process - i have 1 usb key and an SD card working perfectly.

However.. I decided the other week to remove an ipod i had a lot of generic music stored on for the more commercial gigs i do and run it all through rekordbox (2700 tracks)

All analysed ok.. took a while but all done, added a few que's loops etc.. that i like to use. (i imported them using the itunes bridge)

Now I bought 2 64gb usb2.0 sticks off ebay.

They were originally fat32 so i jsut went ahead to load them up as you'd normally go about it - my 1st attempt i selected all and dragged it across leaving it to sort itself over night.

Once it had finished - loaded up on the deck ok, DJ Linked to the other deck ok... but only tracks from A-E existed on the stick and gave me an error code on the linked deck too.

I googled the error which i cant remember offhand and it suggested the formatting was not right so.. last night i reformatted the stick back to a base FAT32 setup twice over once was a full format.  decided to try loading tracks on in a batch - approx 400 at a time.

it still produced the same issue - however when viewing the drive in the file explorer the files were there - they weren't there before when i tried a mass load

What am i doing wrong here? as i said i have other drives i use without issue, but other than the usb sticks not being compatible i don't know what else i can do?

if you have 2700 tracks in 1 playlist that could be your issue. It will only read 1000 tracks in 1 playlist so it makes sense that you can't see past "E", that could could be your 1000th track

There isn't 1000 tracks in a playlist, my playlists are only about 50 tracks tops.

The library is appox 2700 tracks. I don't think its that excessive is it? I'm sure most mobile dj's would have far larger collections which they need at their disposal

I mean this is the whole point of a library management system?

no further forward on this :(

the same library works fine off an ipod, yet it wont write the same tracks to usb.

Is there a limit on tracks/folders for fat32 flash media?

Ok tried out the formatting link you supplied, took a while but proved worth while as initially it said it had a bad sector on it and reformatted it again.

Loaded up my music onto the stick in blocks of approx. 200 tracks (about 2500 in total)

Some work, most don't - leaving an error code of: E8302 (3611) on the player which is pro DJ linked it gives the same code but (B611)

I can only conclude the usb's I bought aren't upto scratch - overall, pretty annoying.

@Simon > What make / brand USB sticks are they? Have you tried scanning your files with mp3val?

Gavin. The files work fine on the iPod I currently use.

I re analysed everything in 2.1 and started fresh. It seemed positive but still no joy.

I don't know why but I bought unbranded usb sticks. The spec seemed ok. But maybe its what I get for buying unbranded sticks.
