Rekordbox keys

Hey. I love recordbox but i dont understand the keys. Could someone be kind enough to tell what they mean in Mixed in key camelot wheel style 12A 8B etc(All keys). Then i can study those. Thanks!

Hey Sami

The Camelot system is just a way of numbering all the keys, so you don't have to bother learning the circle of fifths.

A quick Google search will explain in detail what the circle of fifths is, but to put it simply, every major key has a relative minor key that has exactly the same notes.  Every key also shares the notes that give it its colour with the key a fifth above and the key a fourth below, so mixing in either of these directions usually sounds nice.  See the attached picture for examples...

Hope this helps

The small 'b' means it's a flat (the black key on a piano below the note in question).

Any one know why rekordbox doesn't have an option to display keys as the camelot system, i'm guessing licensing or something.  So used to the camelot system, i know ppl say to add the key's to comments but that really isn't an option due to me already using my comments for other info.

If anyone from pioneer could let us know if this may be an option in future updates, or an option to display both for example 1A - G#m.
