Have you used the Disk Manager to check the drives and reformat them? It could be they were improperly formatted previously and that was the issue. Watch this video:
Hi,,
Basically last night I was exporting the final playlist to my USB stick when the export froze on one track, no error message was given, nothing at all. After a few minutes I tried to cancel the export but nothing happened. I tried to force quit RB and saw that it was (not responding). I managed to force quit it but could not take out the usb stick. After waiting about 1 minute i restarted the computer. Since then the USB stick is invisible on every computer including the CDJ2000... It gets weirder,, I plug in a second USB and try to export a different playlist again from RB... about 5 min in to export on I notice the export froze again! Again the same thing, now the USB is in a different port! its a different USB stick. I restart the comp,,, and its dead... two in the span of 10 minutes,, they don't show up in disk utility, nor can any other computer see them. There were another three dis sitting with me looking stupefied at what the hell happened... Has anyone else had this problem?? Im afraid to put in a third USB... I ended up playing from a third one that I just copied the playlist to,, (not export just copied) and it worked fine. Both sticks died during exporting.
Im on Macbook Retina 15in,,, running latest OSX. 10.9.2 The rekordbox software is the latest. Need help, as I have a 5 gig tour of Germany coming up and really don't want to mess this up!
Thanks
S.

Hey man, Thanks for the answer, but what actually happened to my USBs? how could a program destroy them ? Just very strange. I redid as the video told on the new USB,, hope it won't get destroyed as well.. But kinda feel bad throwing out 2 brand new 32gb sticks. Any suggestions on how I can reformat them since no computer will see them?
If by "destroy" you mean "corrupt data," then yes. It's entirely possible for a program or operating system to make the files / filesystem of a drive unreadable. You could try and repair them but you'll be better off formatting them.
And yes, the Disk Utility will likely be able to "see" them even if they don't mount in the operating system. Load it up, look on the left and see if your drive is listed, then use the Partition method to format your drive(s).
Hi!
By destroy I mean that no computer even sees the USBs, not in disk utility not in anything, its weird, as if they got short circuited. The weird thing is that both of them froze during export from Rekordbox, just stuck on one track, for like a few min, and they were lit up, so when I restarted the computer they should have been fine. Both are now dead.... very very strange. I just can't see it being a coincidence that two USBs die while exporting and a third is fine just copying.
I would expect that the drives are not actually "dead" (as in a dead parrot), but rather that the filesystem is damaged and thus they're not showing up. There are some disk utilities (other than those provided by the OS) which can repair them.
Ok,,, so I just did everything in the video, with a third USB stick,, partition and everything... I was exporting a playlist,,, and BOOM the rekordbox freezes, tell me a huge error message with pages and pages of code,,, and my usb says improperly ejected drive,,, now i can't even erase or format it! It can't be the computer since this only happened during the export,, it can't be the USBs as all three are different capacity and brand. Im really paranoid now, I've ruined 3 usb drives with this program 16,32, and 8gb... Im afraid to put in another one.
What version of rekordbox are you running?
Hi Mate
Running 2.2.4 ! Just got in to Frankfurt,,, sitting at a friends house. He had the same thing happen recently with 2 separate USBs, same during exporting. Freeze then reset then no comp sees the USB anymore. Im glad I'm not the only one. Maybe it has to do with the 10.9.3 compatibility???
Just so you know! I downgraded to 2.2.3 and everything works fine! looked around on the forums and it seems like its the 2.2.4 that gives everybody the problems,,, Pioneer ever heard of Beta Testing? :)
Yes, they heard of it....you just did it for them. Strange though, that your computer does not see the USB stick anymore , but when you use RB 2.2.3 they are there again. ;-)
Nonono,,, the USB that were killed are still unusable,, worked with a new USB... two of them actually,, the others are dead, unreadable in Mac or PC... :(
Again, I don't believe that they are truly dead - if the software crashed mid-file operation, the likely culprit is a corrupt drive with a damaged file system making it unreadable by the OS. There are tools which can repair that for you available online for both Macs and PCs.
@Sergey > Are you running 10.9.2 or 10.9.3 ?
