Importing tracks and beat grids from Traktor......

Hi All,

I have been using Traktor to dj for a while now and have found its analysing tool to be pretty dam accurate, but for djing I want to move away from Traktor and use RB in conjunction with my CDjs and the ones I use whilst playing out.

My question really relates around importing the beat grids from Traktor to RB. So the process I use is, I use Traktor to set my grids and then use rekord buddy to import my tracks into RB, if I analyse the tracks once in RB, will it overwrite the beat grids set by Traktor? If so I should turn off auto analyse?

I believe Traktor to set the more accurate grids, or is RB 3.1 much the same or still falling a little short?

Thanks

hi ray

to answer your question, yes rekordbox analysis will overwrite tractor/rekordbuddy analysis so you should turn it off if you want to keep your grids intact.

you are right, traktor grid analysis is the best but i think you'll find rekordbox 3 much improved from v2. i used to use the same traktor > rekordbuddy > rekordbox process as you but after testing out rekordbox v3 i found it to be almost as good and now use rekordbox exclusively.

try testing it out on the same 20 or 30 tracks with both software and see how it works for you.

Phil, one more thing? How did I switch analyse off, is it just the auto analyse function I need to switch to No?, which I have done, but when I drag the track into the player section is it only analysing the wave form and artwork and not the grid?

Thanks
