[SOLVED] Aiff Support for Iphone and Ipad

I know this has been asked before and as far back as 2012.  When will Rekordbox support Aiff and Wav files for ios or android? I just want to be able to use my iphone to store a playlist on instead of carrying a hard drive around with me as well. The storage capacity of mobile devices available negates the need to carry around another device.

There is a limitation on transmission bandwidth both through Wi-Fi and USB within iPhone. Due to the lack of bandwidth, WAV and AIFF are restricted on the iOS version of rekordbox because playback on XDJ-AERO/CDJ-2000nexus will not be smooth-- playback will intermittently stop.

  • Android version:

Unlike iPhone, there is no limitation on transmission bandwidth either through Wi-Fi and USB within Android phone; however, the bandwidth is sometimes OK, and is sometimes not depending on file. This means that there is the ability play WAV and AIFF with no problems on XDJ-AERO/CDJ-2000nexus; therefore, Android version of rekordbox allows WAV and AIFF as far as it is in 16 bits/44.1 kHz. Please note that Pioneer does not officially support playback of WAV and AIFF because the quality cannot be guaranteed.

Please also note that AIFF (or AIF) files cannot be imported from Android phone itself because 'Music' of Android OS doesn't support those file formats as posted on the app's FAQs.
