Correct - you can't change that folder, but perhaps you need to repair the permissions on that folder? Have you repaired permissions on your drive recently? Let me know if you need instructions on doing that.

Can you go to: /users/scottcarritt/library/pioneer - then click on the rekordbox folder to select it, then go to File > Get Info and tell me what it says at the bottom of the info window for Sharing & Permissions?

Hi there. I have the same error notification.

I have the wrong username set as the analysis folder. Is there a way to change that folder name?

I've already tried to uninstall rekordbox and delete the pioneer folder in the library, but for some strange reason the error still appears.

Would appreciate to get your help.

@Mindbeatsmusic > When you installed, did you install it under another user profile? Does your user account have administrative privs?

Some weeks ago ive reinstalled my mac and copied my ituneslibrary. I didnt knew that the username has to be the same to let everything work. I installed rekordbix. After the installation i changed my account name, so that everything was working fine. But this error notification appeares. This night, after a lot of tries and tests ive found a way to solve it temporary: ive created a folder with the username set in the analysis folder path in the username area. Then once ive opened rekordbix everything worked well. But isnt there a way to change the path in the preferencws in rekordbox?

That's not really a place for you to change it, more-so a place for you to see where the data is being stored.

The changing of the account name is certainly what threw-off the software.

hey @mindbeatsmusic and @pulse, I figured out the issue

the location is set to /users/scottcarrit/library/pioneer/rekordbox

however when I look at my tree in mac, it reads /users/scott/llibrary/pioneer/rekordbox

there is something wrong with the install, its changing the name to scottcarritt when it should be just scott

im uninstalling and reinstalling but i doubt it will work...

@scott > I may have found a fix for you...

First, be sure Rekordbox is closed. Go to Finder, and click Go (from the menu) and Go to folder...  ~/Library/Application Support/Pioneer/rekordbox

Open the rekordbox3.settings file (with TextEdit) and find this line:

  <VALUE name="pioneerDirectory" val="

That could be showing the value: /users/scottcarrit/library/pioneer/rekordbox

...which is incorrect. Simply edit the "scottcarrit" down to "scott" and save the file.

Open rekordbox and check the analysis folder location.

In case anyone is looking at this thread in the future I had the same problem (new computer with different User name / Pioneer analysis file location) and found the fix. The way to do it is to move the database management onto an external device (EG a USB stick or an external hard drive) and then back onto your computer's HD. The Pioneer analysis file will then update to your new details. Do this by insterting / attaching whatever external device, and going:

rekordbox > Preferences > Advanced ... and at the bottom selecting the new database and clicking Move Database.

This will move the database (including the Pioneer analysis file) to the new location. Then simply repeat the steps to move it back to your computer's HD.
