FollowDDJ SX Manufacturing defect out the box!! (UK)
Very angry after finally getting my hands on a DDJ SX here in the UK and removing it from its sealed box only to find this on the right hand platter!!
Shocking.
The Retailer has no more in stock and so can only refund me.
Pioneer, do you not have quality control on this flagship controller?
With no more in stock what the hell am I supposed to do, put up with it or wait weeks and weeks to get another?

I realize you're upset, as would I be. If your retailer won't have any anytime soon, try Emailing Pioneer EU and see what direction they can give you on replacement or finding another one in the UK. I am really surprised that this made it out to you and will let quality control know about the mishap....
I just bought the SX and the left Platter is broke.. When you go to move the music bakwards it goes forward... I am besides myself right now, Because there are NONE in stock where I bought it or anywhere else for that matter. I want Pioneer to replace this unit ASAP! I dont know who to call or email
Dude you will have to live with it for a little while :(
i have some wobbly loose knobs and a broke fader already (fader was stiff and kept sending midi out of the box)
Most of the wobblynes is ok i gues but one knob def not.
there are no units around at this tome and no spareparts.
at least mine works and i can use it but im also pretty angry.
Sold my old mixer 3 days after i got the sx because i was stoked.
i wrote some angry posts and asked peaple if they have the same issues.
But only the stiff deck 3 fader seems to bother some people.
The knobs are metal so i didnt think it would wobble after 2 weeks.
But in the end when parts will be in stock ill have a top notch serviced unit i hope.
If not ill send it back in and sell it afterwards. Hope its really just a few units with quality lags snd to defend pioneer, they dont manufacture the knobs and faders and my unit seemed fine when i got it so they might be out in my case but a defective platter could be noticed during quality control.
I feel you, but this shit is insane! I mean i hope they help all us sx troubled djs
Contact the dealer, then the local branch of Pioneer for your area of the world. Sorry if something came with an issue, but Pioneer always stands up for it's customers and products. Contact can also be found with in your warranty paperwork...
thanks jay
if your saying and i shouldnt worry and will be fixed im fine.
im just concerned knobs will become loose again and again.
I know knobs start to wobble after some time but 3 weeks? ;)
I hope its not the case
This thing is promoted with Pro build and it really is no plastic pots but why do they wobble.
Well another sidenote for you jay on the next brainstorm ;)
Why not put the Fx on the side of the mixer like on a djm t1?
I dont like to have to reach up there ;)
If i push pressure on the platter it works for 5 mins, then goes back. Press down again it comes back for 5 mins. Errrr
@Infamous > Have you adjusted the platter sensitivity?
Yes!!!
The evil retailer must have sent you a copy that was previously returned because of the physical damage. I highly doubt that something like this could get past quality control.
Wow, I just spoke with Pioneer on the phone. Dude was no help. All he can say is you have to ship it in for repair. I said how long will it take, his reply was 2 weeks. I said I cant wait two weeks. I have gigs I have to do. FML!!!!!
He was rude
best thing is there are no parts available at the moment.
but i guess in your case some part just got the other way around...
Well we are early adopters. I expected much more from this but i hope after i get repair its going to be fine.
And if there are a lot of issues like 30% defective units they will change something.
And if yours breaks after that you will get the new parts installed.
I think they simply did not think it would sell this fast.
If it would not everyone would have an replacement pretty fast.
@infamousdjbiggie > I tried to watch the video file but you must have deleted it. I can only go on the basis of what is discussed here and advise you to return your unit for repair. Perhaps the repair centre may be willing to loan you gear in the mean time.
