[SOLVED] DDJ SX Microphone Distorted

You can close a topic because, people are rude. That's fine, but don't use that as a reason to hide Pioneer's faults.I.m done, I'm sorry don't mean to get off subjectI but had issues before with my led's on my CDJ'200O'S couple years back. Bit the bullet had them repaired myself (NOT GOING THROUGH THIS AGAIN0) Purchased DDJ -SX (2). Like I said, spoke to tech support, was told this was going to be resolved in a couple weeks, that means 2,It's been 3 weeks now can't return my units now. So here is what I'm going to do. GOING TO BUY 2 UNITS AT A TIME FROM WHO EVER I CAN GET THEM FROM AND RETURN THEM TILL I GET PROPER WORKING UNITS.

This same thing happened on the American DJ VMS4 , and they said the same thing , that Pioneer is saying . So what they ended up doing was telling Customers that they would need to hook up a Line matching Transformer to the Mic . Is this the case also do we need to do the same thing in this Pioneer unit > then later on they came out with the VMS4.1 to fix the Mic Problem .

Pioneer wants nothing but the best gear for it's customers and will work on any issues that may arise.  The mic issue is being looked into and once any announcement comes out it will be featured here.  Closing the thread is to keep the flames down or control the conversation in a useful manner.  If I was you I would be in the same mood, we obviously don't want problems with gear so any news we can pass on we will.....

Hey @Manuel J did you try the FW update, and if so did it change anything?  I use a SAMPLE unit that is OLD and the mic issue went away with the latest FW update.  If your's didn't then contact Pioneer for your area of the world and see about a return for work on the mic.....

Really, because I have 2 and my last one i sounds like SHIT MIC AND A GROUNDING ISSUE NOW, been doing this for 25 years I'.m 47 years old, started buying products with CDJ'S 500's,from Pioneer  before that I used technics versions of CDJ's witch sold for $1800  a piece, before you guys even catered to me.(JAY) appreciate the feedback and  I did instal new firmware.A remedy is not a fix,not for the person that buys my units down the road.Start looking into the grouding iss with the units. And also I had asked what the headroom was on the unit and never got a response back (tech support could not even tell me,are you guys hiring.

@Manuel J, I understand what you're saying and again if the microphone is still a concern and not working the way it is expected to, contact Pioneer and tell them you would like to have it addressed.  I won't argue or defend a negative, if the gear you have isn't working, Pioneer wants nothing more than to have it taken care of.  I get the blowing off steam here, but it really is an issue that will be fixed.

If you have been getting gear back to the 500 days, then you realize this is the exception and not the rule for Pioneer gear....

Hey Manuel.

Sorry to hear that your mic issue has not been solved.  I also own a DDJ-SX however, my unit is working great (so far, fingers crossed) with no mic distortion.  That being said, I am using a mic with an output impedance of 600 ohms.  It is a Samson R11.  It is not a great mic by any standards but it works.  The mic input impedance on the SX is 10 K ohms.  If your mic has an output impedance of 600 ohms of lower (eg. Sure SM 58 300 ohms) it will distort no matter how you adjust the channel that your mic is plugged into.  Gavin asked you earlier in this post what kind or brand of mic you are using and you didn't respond. If you tell someone what kind of mic you are using, maybe somone can help you out.

I have the same Mic the Shure SM58 and noticed myself that it did not sound good , so I uploaded the new software fix , and yes it did fix it somewhat , but it still did not sound right , I would say it got to be about 60 % better . I do have another mic the Rode M1 and  this Mic sounds awesome .

If you have updated the firmware and you are still not happy with the sound quality from your mic, please contact Pioneer technical support to have your unit serviced.
