[SOLVED] DDJ SZ USB Driver Problems?

Just purchased the wonderful DDJ SZ. The problem that I am having is which I believe to be with the USB Driver. I have installed all the drivers correctly, Serato software recognizes the device, the device plays audio like it should.

The problem I am having is the USB Button keep flashing green. According to the manual this is due to the Driver not being installed. The thing is that the Drivers are installed, so I am stumped to why the USB Buttons keep flashing green, also when I do a recording than the audio recording is very poor. Any suggestions?

Just a quick head up, I’ve just plugged the controller into another computer, installed drivers successfully etc., and the same problem occurs. Faulty unit maybe?

@Paul > Congrats on the purchase, sorry to hear you're having problems out of the gate!

First, the USB button will always flash - that's to indicate which USB input is assigned control. If you look at any performance video online you'll see them flashing.

If you've installed the drivers and the utility software, you can verify the configuration there. If your recording quality is poor, it may be due to the levels you have set for recording either within the software (Serato?) or the levels on the hardware may be too hot (in the red)?

Thank you for your rapid response it’s very much appreciated. Your absolutely correct, when the faders are in the down position the USB light are now solid green.

I’m still having very poor quality audio recording though, at a point where is almost unlistenable. And I have appeared to have tried everything, adjusting Gains, Trims, Levels, both on the DDJ SZ and my PC.

Please listen to this audio clips which Serato has recorded from the DDJ SZ. Any help on this would be great full.

That sounds more like an issue with the settings, assuming, of course, that there is no buzz present in your master output.

What are the recording settings within the SZ utility app and Serato?

Again thank you for quick response.... Again your correct, I noticed there was a buzz coming from my sound card, this was due to an optical cable I have connected that was faulty.

All is now good, now to enjoy this amazing beast or a midi controller. Many thanks for your support and advice.
