[SOLVED] How durable is the CDJ 2000 vs CDJ 800Mk2?

Hello guys, I’m about to get 2x lightly used CDJ 2000s. I have a question about its overall durability, how is it compared to the CDJ 800mk2?

How are the durability of the cue buttons? On the cdj 800 Mk2 I have had to change the cue buttons like once every 1/1.5year.

Is the quality and durability of the cue buttons improved on the CDJ 2000?

The 2000's are way more durable, as they are built for club use.  They feel much more solid and sturdy than the 800s (and 900s).

So how often do you guys need to change/replace the cue button on the CDJ 2000?

I have had my 2000's for over 2 years, I use them heavily 2-3 times a week, sometime 4 and none of the buttons even remotely feel like they are wearing out.  The only thing i would test if you can when you arrive to buy them is the back and top usb ports, bring a flash drive and a standard usb cable and plu/unplug a couple of times to check for sturdiness, these have been known to break on these models for some guys

@Andreas > while the 2000s are more durable in construction by comparison to the 800s, the wear and tear inflicted by different users varies wildly - some people like to stab the cue button for example. I've been playing with mine and testing since day 0 and have never had any issues or needed to repair anything.

Like Gavin said, some DJs go at the cue button like a rabid jackhammer.  I've seen a perfectly fine unit (CDJ-1000 MK3) destroyed (repairable!) in one night due to that kind of unnecessary behaviour.  if you smash something around, it'll break.  Treat it fairly, you shouldn't have any issues.

Hey guys. Ive had my cdj 2000s for 1 year now. Love them. Now im experiencing that the cue button is not playing every time i punch it. Maybe 7 out of 10 times when i hit it rapidly. Not sure if im wearing them out already. I do have a bad habit of hitting it in rhythm before I hit the play button....and it is on my right side and i am right handed so I do this a lot vs the one on the left...and my left cdj id on point. Button issues? internal? Anyone having this annoying problem? Feedback much appreciated.

@Avntdr > You should consider contacting Pioneer's technical support line to arrange a service for your unit - it may very well be some slight damage to the switch underneath the cue button. Links are in the column on the right >>
