are you using rekordbox?
no i havn't been using rekordbox but to be fair that shudnt matter that much. i had 800mk2's before these an they loaded the bpm in a 5th the time.
i timed it today its actually taking about 20 seconds a song. thats a minute lost in the mix if i went tru 3 tracks. Ridiculous. At 1300euro i expect alot more and especially for such a minor thing. I just hope there's a firmware up date for it soon. I have to say im very dissapointed. everything else on it is brilliant an so easy to use but like i said a minor thing but a major let down!
Man your seriously missing out,
Analyze your tunes with rekordbox first and everything you are asking about is resolved,
Don't complain when your only utilizing half the kit.
i have had mine for 2 years and there isn't anything better out there.
im sorry mate but i disagree. Its a computer program that helps with tune analysis loops etc but you shouldnt have to rely on it! And that mite have some grounds with using usbs or other links but what about cd's??
der was no problem in the past with dat. am i ment to get rid of all the cd's i burnt an go through rekordbox to get them anylised. I got this deck so i cud have the best of both worlds.
loading bpm on a cd on my cdj 800, 4seconds max.
loading bpm on a cd on my cdj 900, 20 seconds
there is something seriously wrong there!!
the whole idea of the cdj's addition features is to use quantize alongside rekordbox.
if you dont want to use the software then thats your call but its like having a nice car and not putting the ffuel in it,
The new generation of equipment works hand in hand.
i have 2 x 2000s and 1 x 900 and after the tunes have been analyzed then they do not take 20 seconds to load the bpm it is there instantly.
the cdj 800 didnt display a waveform like the new decks do so hence it takes longer to analyze if you havent done it first time round in the software.
try the software you wont be sorry it really is the answer to every djs music organisation.
Ok I see where your coming from and you make a gud point. definitely going to look more into rekordbox.
But I still dont think there's a gud enough reason for it not to load faster. Am i ment to burn all my cd's again?
What about the average dj dat doesnt have that set up at home and walks into a club with just a book of cd's? And
the cdj 1000's had waveform an they loaded very quick in comparison?
Just hope pioneer will get on top of it an sort it out with the next firmware update!!
Cd's are so 1999,
Any dj that has done his homework will know the decks they are using and will also know rekordbox is free for all and can prepare their sets at home or while they are on the move with a laptop,
Decks these days are playing over SD Cards / Laptops / USB.
why keep shelling out on cds that just get sctrathed and ruined? :)
I'd like to have the best of both worlds. for dat kind of money i dont tink it's too much to ask for.
Think pioneer must be giving you brown envelopes haha.
@Stephen > The issue with the 900 is that you are using MP3s (a compressed format) which have to be decoded by the player i.e. 'uncompressed' so that they can be analyzed by the player. Utilizing rekordbox, you get instant load times and waveforms.
Please note; rekordbox does NOT apply to CDs - only flash media (SD cards / USB sticks etc).
When you burn CDs, the best option is usually CD-Audio - this is an uncompressed audio format so the players can instantly read and load the BPM / waveforms etc. This is likely where you are seeing such a difference.
Please ensure your players are updated to 4.10.
Thanks for the reply Gavin. I understand that and have no issue with it taking time through usb, SD cards and so on but
what i dont understand is why it takes so long on cd. i could put the same CD in both the 800 and the 900 and the 800 would load the bpm in
literally a quarter the time! I dont understand. Whatever about the waveform but surely the bpm loading could be adressed, even just to make it as quick as the 800!
